What’s your summertime wine? Wine Pairing Weekend invites you to share (#winePW)

Long-awaited, sizzling-hot summer is here! Time to get outside, wine glass or can in hand, and a few tasty finger foods or easy bites to nibble.

Our Wine Pairing Weekend (#winePW) topic for July is “Summer Sippers and Tasty Bites.” If you have a blog, please consider posting an article on this topic July 8 or 9.

To be included in the preview post for this month’s #winePW topic, please provide your title, blog name and blog url by Tuesday, July 5. Either leave a comment with this info for Linda via My Full Wine Glass or drop it in the designated post event thread on #winePW Coordinating Group. We’ll be posting updates to this event, including chat questions and links to other blogs on this event page. Need to join the group? Great! Let me know and I’ll connect you with the site administrator.

Don’t have a blog? That’s OK. Everyone is invited to join the #winePW Twitter chat about favorite summer wines on July 9, starting at 8 am PT/11 am ET. Simply follow the hashtag.

So what’s your favorite wine for hanging out on the porch, patio or around the pool in the summer?

  • Perhaps you reach for a chilled and refreshing, light-bodied wine from your fridge or ice bucket.
  • Or maybe your summer jam is fizz or sparkle in the glass.
  • Your go-to wine might be the deep dark red perfect with meaty barbecue.
  • Or maybe ease is your summer thing – screw caps, cans, even boxed wine.

Let’s hear about your idea for a summer sipper, whether easy-drinking or sophisticated and complex. Got some nibbles to pair with your choice of wine? Please share. This is a wide-open topic. Hope you’ll think creatively and join us!

  1. Super excited about this topic after Sue and I met last night to decide on wines (orange mostly bubblies from Mexico, Austria, Oregon, CA, and Italy)! Lots of tasty bites on the menu as well. Thanks for hosting!
